The crowning achievement for Sri Lanka’s exporters, the Presidential Exports Awards, have been revived and will take place on Wednesday 16 December in Colombo.
The Panel of Judges in the latest PEA was chaired by a retired Supreme Court Judge.
The Presidential Export Awards (PEA) was formulated by SLEDB in 1981 to recognise the contributions made by the export community towards national development by awarding of the highest and most prestigious award in the country by the President.
The PEA award symbolises the national recognition of individuals or enterprises who have excelled in export business, particularly in non-traditional products and services.

It is also an incentive for exporters to explore their skills in achieving similar accomplishments in the export business.
The award ceremony is scheduled for 16 December afternoon at Nelum Pokuna Theatre, Colombo 7. Among the special awards of 16 December session shall be Sri Lanka Exporter of the Year, Highest Employment Provider in the Export Industry, Best Sri Lankan Brand Exporter, Highest Net Foreign Exchange Earner (NFE), Best Emerging Exporter and Most Market Diversified Exporter. There shall also be 27 product/service sector awards to be conferred for best exporter in each product/services sector.
The most significant value of the Presidential Export Award is that it is presented to the award winners by the President along with a certificate signed by the Secretary to the President as a symbol of its prestige and the national recognition.
Joining President Maithripala Sirisena at the awards session will be Minister of Strategic Development and International Trade Malik Samarawickrama and State Minister of International Trade Sujeewa Senasinghe. Brandix Lanka CEO Ashroff Omar is also scheduled to address the gathering of achievers of Lankan exports sector.
The selection criterion is based on the contributions on overall export earnings, product development, market development, and social development made towards the country.
